Charli’s Tree: A Lake Ridge Chapel Tradition

Charli Jones was just three years old when she passed on November 11, 2019. She was full of love, joy, passion, and just the right amount of sass. She loved unicorns, princesses, rainbows, elephants, and all things pink and purple.

Charli and her family were avid supporter of Toys for Tots, a program created by the Marine Corps to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute them to less fortunate children at Christmas. Providing as many toys as possible was always a goal for her.

After losing their daughter, the Jones family requested donations be made to Toys for Tots in Charli's honor. Inspired by her compassion for others, Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers established Charli’s Tree as an extra effort to support the Lubbock area Toys for Tots.

When Charlie’s Tree was established in 2019, we were able to raise $15,000 in gifts and monetary donations. This year, we are off to a good start with $2,000 in gifts and donations with participation from our Lake Ridge family and Cycle Bar.

Lake Ridge Chapel will be accepting unwrapped toys at LRC and online donations through Sunday, December 20th. Please consider giving so that no child is without a toy this Christmas season. What will you place under Charli’s Tree?

Lake Ridge Chapel raised over $3,000 this past year for Toys for Tots thanks to your generous donations made to Charli’s Tree. Our goal for 2021 is to reach $5,000. What will you place under Charli’s Tree next year?
